If somone dies off drowning, will their face look different when they are dead?

My close friend died last week, she drowned after the car she was in crashed into a river. is dorwning a painfull death? is it quick? she was pronounced dead at the scene after being underwater for 20 minutes, but then was resucitated later in hospital, after being on a life support machine with several organ failures, she died the next morning. will her face look different because she drowned, ive seen her body twice now.. and it looks les and less like her.
