I need help installing and playing an older carmen sandiego game on my computer!!?

i have windows 7 and its telling me the game isnt compatible with the version of windows im running...i have a 64 bit type cpu...but its telling me to check my system to see if i need x86 (32-bit) or "x64(64-bit)..which i have"......how can i get it to play?
