Verizon XV-6900 with data block, questions?

I'm thinking of getting the XV-6900 from verizon but I was wondering if i got it and not pay the $30 for the PDA mode by signing up for data blocker will it still be a decent phone. Will i still get the fancy standard features like windows, etc, what won't be included. What does data blocker really exclude. Has anyone tries the phone like this is it still worth it.
