Door of radioactive room was left open..can this be harmful?

In the lab where I work, the door to the room that had a radioactive sign on it (honestly I don't know what kind of radioactive equipment they have in there but there is a sign on the door) the door was left open. So my question is, if the door to that room is open, can it have affects on the people who work in the area? I mean I don't actually go in the room but I have to walk past it sometimes and I work close by to it...can this cause radioactive poisoning or effect your health in anyway?
