For a student: honda cbr250r new vs. cbr600rr used. First bike, also. Help?

I don't know much about the cbr250 but i did buy an 09 ninja 250 as my first bike i bought it off someone with about 500miles on it for 3000. i always wanted the yamaha r6 but the 250 can be just as fun it can keep up with cars and go 100mph no problem, iv had mine to 110mph so even a 250 can be a decent bike for the highway.
